Doyle Ward is a man of many talents. At Body Mind & Soul, we know him as a powerful teacher and medium with a ready smile and a desire to help others. But after many years of corporate success, Doyle has built a flourishing practice as a certified life coach, hypnotist, and grief specialist. Doyle’s unique classes on harnessing and developing the skills of a medium almost always sell out here. So in honor of his class with us this weekend, Saturday April 8th at 1:00 p.m., Mediumship in Action: Photograph Reading, we decided to do a little Q&A with him.
When did you first realize you were a medium?
Doyle: I realized I could sense people on the spirit side of life at a very young age after recovering from a difficult surgery. I have since spent my life trying to make something meaningful and helpful out of this “thing that I can do”.
How do you think your gift helps others?
Doyle: I have found that mediumship can bring great peace and comfort to those who have lost loved ones. It can help to answer questions and bring closure or forgiveness to those relationships where it may be needed. I also believe that it can be a wonderful revelation to know that life is continuous and that our loved ones are still with us.
Why did you decide to teach others how to grow their mediumship skills?
Doyle: I teach to empower people and help them gain access to their own natural intuitive skills. The truth is that people really don’t need someone like me to communicate with their friends and family in Spirit. The communication is only made possible through the love and emotional connection they have with their loved ones. So basically we can all learn to recognize the different ways that the communication can happen.
Do you think anyone can be a medium? Why or why not?
Doyle: I believe that everyone has intuitive skills that can be developed if they choose to. Some may be naturals at mediumship and others may be excellent at something else. I often relate it to drawing or painting in that we can all probably sketch a decent stick figure person but not all of us will become a master portrait artist. That’s the exciting part of helping people explore to see what they are great at!
What is your favorite thing about being able to connect with those who have passed on?
Doyle: The smiles, the healing, and the love that is shared is my favorite part. It is an honor and a privilege to help deliver the messages of spirit and be a small part of the healing process. I am in awe of the healing benefits of mediumship and would ask you to consider the following: We are spirit first. We are more than our physical bodies, and that life is continuous.
