Apache Tear for healing grief and protection
Apache Tears of a form of black obsidian, which is a volcanic stone. Apache Tears are generally a little rougher in appearance than solid Black Obsidian.
The meaning of their name comes from an old American Indian Legend.
It is said that certain members of an indian tribe were pursued by the Cavalry, and although they fought bravely, they were outnumbered. So rather than being captured they jumped off the cliff. As the grieving women of the tribe cried, their large tears fell to the earth and formed into these dark, rough obsidian stones.
Apache tears can also be used for psychic protection and will help absorb negative energy. And also like many dark stones, they are good for grounding.
