As part of our Divine Feminine series, we wanted to honor Gaia, Mother Earth, and couldn't think of a more wonderful way than to invite you to experience the nurturing habitat created by Selia Qynn. Proceeds will be donated to the Texas Beekeepers Association & Habitat House.

Please join Selia Qynn as she shares how simple it is to have your own certified backyard habitat – even if you only have a balcony. Topics will include native plants, migratory wildlife, and how to attract them to your space. This will be a walking tour of the property to illustrate how wilderness can be brought into a garden setting and still look well kept. Bees will also be addressed, specifically how to encourage healthy bees by eliminating the use of pesticides.



GINGER MCCORD will talk about the influences of this month's moon on our earth and fellow earthlings.

SOILS: AN UNDERVIEW with Dany Millikin

Please join Dany Millikin as he presents on the living entity beneath us, the soil. Bacteria, fungi, protozoa and many other microorganisms work with plant roots to make life possible on earth. Also, he will cover a few tips on joining this effort and improving the effectiveness of the little soil workers.

Dany is the founder of Edible Earth Resources and Horticulturist at McGovern Centennial Gardens. He studied biology at Texas A&M and is affiliated with Farmstead Houston and Edible Landscaping.


LAURIE CULLEN will share some of her adventures of being a world traveling diva as well as some of her authentic culinary treats made from the bounty of our amazing Mother Earth.

 Selia received her Backyard Habitat Certification by the National Wildlife Federation in 1996. In  addition to being a habitat steward, Selia is also a singer/ songwriter, graphic artist, author,  photographer, landlord and nature lover. She hosts a house concert series called Habitat House  Concerts in the Spring and Fall in her garden. Selia spends her spare time nurturing growing  things and spending time with her flowers and birds. She is currently promoting her recent book - "The Critter Chronicles" a volume of true, short stories about life in her 3/4 acre corner of the world. Her wish is to spread the word that we can grow Heaven right here on Earth.
