The moon is on her way to being full this Thursday July 10 in the earthy sign of Capricorn at 3:37 pm CST. Full moons occur every month when the sun and moon are in opposite signs at the exact same degree. For this particular July full moon the sun is at 18 degrees Cancer while the moon is in the opposite sign of Cancer at 18 degrees. In astrology the moon is linked to our emotions, moods, and sensitivities so when the moon is full our feelings can also feel full. The intensity of our emotions can feel a bit overwhelming at this time of the month and our reactions can be impulsive. The full moon is bright and can cast light and clarity on things that were previously hidden or confusing.

With Capricorn being the natural ruler of the 10th House our career and work life could be taking center stage at this time. Some of us may be thinking about changing jobs or even careers. Others of us could be getting that long-awaited recognition or promotion we’ve been seeking. Since the 10th House of our chart can be seen by the public, a full moon in this house could cast light on something we’re trying to hide. Ambition is another keyword linked to Capricorn, if we feel we’ve lost our get and go or mojo and full moon in Capricorn can restore our drive and ambition. If we’ve been procrastinating on doing what needs to be done; a Capricorn full moon and it’s planetary ruler Saturn can crack the whip to get us focused and motivated to do what needs to be done.

Capricorn’s earthy element knows the importance of taking care of the menial tasks in our lives like cleaning the house, washing the dishes, laundry, budgeting our money and getting the oil changed in our cars. The menial, everyday tasks aren’t very glamorous and exciting but they give us good orderly direction in our lives. If we can’t take care of the basics the Universe and Saturn aren’t likely to open any doors to new opportunities.

Saturn and Neptune

Saturn, the planetary ruler of Capricorn, will be conjunct Neptune during this full moon. This is a wild combination because these two couldn’t be any more different. Saturn is a stickler for boundaries and limits and Neptune wants to dissolve them. Neptune craves the mystical, the dreamy and the spiritual. Saturn’s contact to Neptune wants to make sure that our dreams are grounded in some kind of reality. Without Saturn’s grounding energy Neptune’s illusory, dreamy energy can lead us into self-destructive tendencies. The positive vibe of a Saturn/Neptune can reconnect us with our soul and clear out the illusions and fantasies that keep us stuck in unhealthy patterns. We are washed clean and “reborn” so to speak.

Have a great full moon in Capricorn and we hope to see you in the store soon.
