The moon will be new this Monday May 26 in the curious and airy sign of Gemini at 10:02 pm CST. New moons occur every month when the sun and moon are in the same sign at the exact same degree; this is known as a conjunction in astrology. For this new moon both the sun and moon will be at 6 degrees of Gemini. New moons are like a cosmic reset each month, a time to put the past behind us and begin again. New moons are symbolic of new beginnings so it’s the perfect time each month to set new intentions and make new wishes. Our intentions and wishes are like a seed we plant and tend to so it can grow into the results we’d like to see happen in our lives.
The day before the new moon is the dark moon. In certain spiritual and magical circles the dark moon is a time of clearing out, letting go of what we no longer need. It’s also said that our psychic vibe is on high during the dark moon so spend some quiet time for yourself and listen for any messages the Universe may have for you.

Gemini is the curious cat that loves to talk. Whenever Gemini arrives on the scene expect there to be lots of communication going on. A new moon in Gemini pushes communication to center stage. Don’t be surprised if texts, emails, notifications and DMs come in quicker than you can answer them. The Gemini ante is upped because Jupiter and Mercury join the sun and moon in the sign of the Twins. That’s four placements in the sign of Gemini. This flush of Gemini energy lands right on Memorial day when many people are taking short trips (Gemini and 3rd House).
As stated up top, Gemini is linked to learning and teaching so some of us may decide we want to learn something new and decide to take a class.
Gemini loves a change in perspective. If there’s been a situation or decision you’ve been wrestling with a new moon in Gemini could give you the shift in perception you need to resolve something that has been nagging at you. This is especially true if you’ve been trapped in “analysis-paralysis” meaning we’ve lost the big picture and we’re getting tangled up in all the minute details. We could feel trapped and entrenched in a situation and feel we can’t move ahead. Of course, this is a fearful frame of mind that drains us of our energy and leaves us in a state of depression.
Since new moons are about new beginnings it time to remind yourself you aren’t trapped and there are solutions. Instead of procrastinating or distracting yourself by getting involved with the problems of those around you (Gemini energy loves to know what’s going on with others) you can break the cycle by doing something good for yourself. Blue lace agate and aquamarine are both great stones to work with if you’re feeling anxious and ungrounded both stones promote a calming effect.
Have a great new moon in Gemini and we hope to see you in the store soon. Take care.
