Obsidian is a type of volcanic glass formed from molten lava. This crystal is excellent for psychic protection and grounding. In the past, obsidian was sought after for scrying, a method of divination.

Obsidian has been used by shamans and healers to make contact with the spirit world. Because black obsidian has a very strong grounding energy, it may not always be comfortable to work with.
