What is a Chakra Balancing?
The word Chakras refers to the seven major energy centers that we have in our body. They align in specific locations along the spine. In Sanskrit, the word means “disk” or “wheel”. The energy in each chakra is said to spin. When the Chakras are open or balanced, they function at their best. When they are blocked or out of balance, a person may experience symptoms of an emotional or physical nature that are related to that particular chakra.
During a Chakra Balancing session, you will meet with a practitioner who will balance or realign your chakras using various techniques such as sound therapy, crystal body layouts, Reiki, light energy to name a few. Each practitioner will have their own methods of balancing the chakras.
When should you get a Chakra Balancing?
Ideally, after your first session, it is recommended to have a session one per quarter (or by season). Here are some other reasons you may want to have your chakras balanced:
- Relief from a stressful experience
- Feeling stuck and not moving forward in life
- Coping with grief
- Major life transitions
Please be aware that Chakra Balancing is not recommended on a daily or weekly basis.
How to prepare for your Chakra Balancing:
Prior to your appointment, you may want to take some time to determine the intention of your session. Find some quiet time to journal, think, or meditate on your needs. Be sure to share them with your practitioner as you go into the session. Try to come to the session as relaxed as possible.
Three to 4 hours before your session, some practitioners recommend that you fast from food the day of. If you are physically unable to do this, it is advised that you refrain from eating heavy meals, consuming caffeine, sugar, or alcohol.
Be sure to wear comfortable, loose clothing. In terms of jewelry, you may want to remove any heavy items before the session begins. Right before your appointment, be sure to use the restroom so that you will not need to interrupt your session. Silence any devices that you have brought with you so that you do not get distracted.
