Join us for a special weekend with a beloved former Body Mind & Soul team member, now based in Austin, who is returning to Houston as a visiting practitioner to teach and share his work throughout the weekend.
This Shamanic Drum-Making Workshop is the first class in his weekend teaching series.
In this immersive, hands-on experience, you’ll create your own shamanic drum while connecting with rhythm, intention, and spirit. This workshop honors both the practical craft of drum-making and the deeper energetic relationship between maker, materials, and sound.
In This Workshop
• Create your own shamanic drum
You’ll choose from a selection of animal hides, including Horse · Bison · Deer · Elk.
As you work directly with the hide—binding it to the drum frame—we’ll explore the energetic qualities and symbolic meanings of each animal.
All materials are provided.
• Explore cultural context & intention
We’ll discuss the roots of shamanic drumming across cultures and set personal intentions for your drum as a ceremonial and healing tool.
• Participate in a guided sound journey
If time allows, we’ll close with a guided sound journey led by the instructor.
• Your finished drum
Drums require one to two days to dry. You’re welcome to return to pick up your drum once it’s ready, or we’ll go over how to safely set it up to dry at home if needed.

What to Bring
• Yoga mat and eye covering (for the sound journey)
• A towel to work on, as the hides will be wet
Important Booking Details
To enjoy the widest selection of drum sizes and animal hides, we recommend booking by January 1.
Bookings made after January 1 will include 12” drum frames, with animal hides available on a first-come, first-served basis.
To close out the weekend, Isaiah and Soufiane will be teaching Shamanic Journey to Discover Your Power Animal, where students will also have the opportunity to pick up their completed drums. This is the final class in Isaiah’s weekend series.

Isaiah is a licensed funeral director and embalmer, Reiki Master, and Shamanic practitioner.
Based in Austin, Texas, his work weaves together energy healing, meditation, and ancient shamanic practices to support mind–body–spirit connection.
Growing up in Austin, Texas, Isaiah developed a deep relationship with nature and the metaphysical, which continues to inform his approach to teaching and healing. Through the integration of crystal energy, sound, and ceremonial practices, he creates grounded yet expansive experiences that help others deepen their meditation practice, cultivate awareness, and connect more fully with their inner landscape.
General Class Information
If you need to cancel your workshop registration, please notify us 24 hours before the workshop begins. Failure to cancel a workshop registration will result in a full charge for the missed class. Our workshops often sell out and this policy allows others to enjoy our classes.
All our classes are considered to be open to age 18 and up, though specific classes may have a lower age limit set. If a lower age limit is allowed in a class, then a minor may attend but still requires an adult guardian to be present.
If your class is online, then you should receive a Zoom link via email after registration. If you do not receive an email within 48 hrs of your class, please check your Spam folders and then contact us so we can get your class information to you.
