Full Moon in Aquarius

The moon goes full on Tuesday August 1 in the airy sign of Aquarius at 1:32pm CST. Full moons occur every month when the sun and moon are in opposite signs at the exact same degree. For this particular full moon the sun will be a 9 degrees Leo while the moon will be in the opposite sign of Aquarius at 9 degrees. Full moons can bring situations to completion and they can cast light on what was previously hidden. The word lunacy comes from the word lunar which refers to the moon. In astrology the moon rules our emotions so when the moon is full our feelings can be amplified making some of us feel a little crazy.

Keywords and the Full Moon in Aquarius: independent, innovative, analytical, original, eccentric, oddball, friendship, groups, unique, genius, detached, deviant, perversity, rebellion, experimentation, rigidity, revelation, Looking over these keywords do you need the energy of one or several of the keywords in your life right now? Do any of these keywords describe the circumstances in your life right now?

The Elements and the Full Moon in Aquarius: Each astrological sign belongs to one of the four elements; fire, earth, air or water and Aquarius belongs to the air element meaning this full moon will place a special emphasis on ideas, communication, analysis and making connections with others. Speaking of connections with others, as stated above, friendship is ruled by Aquarius so some of us may be making new friends while others will be re-evaluating some of their current friendships. Have I found my tribe? is a good question to ask ourselves during a full moon in Aquarius. Teamwork is also important during this lunation. Uranus is the planetary ruler of Aquarius and can give us further clues to the energy of this full moon. Being true to the oddball and eccentric nature of Aquarius, Uranus is the only planet that rotates on its side. Uranus is known as the Great Awakener in astrology and when this planet or the sign of Aquarius is triggered in our charts we can expect some strange and unexpected happenings. If we’ve been struggling with a problem, the energy of Aquarius and it’s ruling planet Uranus can bring us a solution that seems to appear out of the blue.

Modality and the Full Moon in Aquarius: The modality of a sign gives you further clues to the attitude and nature of that sign and there are three modalities, cardinal, fixed or mutable. Aquarius belongs to the fixed modality meaning this is a sign that stays the path come hell or high water. The shadow side of the fixed modality is getting stuck in ruts and routines as a way to avoid change. Knowing when to let go of a person or situation may be a major issue right now along with our stubbornness in the face of change. What is holding me back? What or who am I afraid to let go of? Where am I resisting change? Where in my life do I need to stay the path? are good questions to ask ourselves this coming week. The fixed energy of Aquarius can also help us stay focused.

Tarot and the Full Moon in Aquarius: Each astrological sign is linked to one of the major arcana cards of the tarot deck and the sign of Aquarius corresponds to the Star card. Keywords associated with the Star card are hope, faith, guidance, inspiration and creativity. If you’ve been going through a difficult time, the energy of the Star card can restore your faith in life, love and healing. You don’t have to rack your brain trying to figure out a solution all you need to do is remain open to new possibilities. As mentioned before, Aquarius’ eccentric energy can line up the answers to our prayers in ways we never dreamed of.

Aquamarine and the Full Moon in Aquarius: If you work with crystals Aquamarine would be an ideal stone to work with during a full moon in Aquarius. Aquamarine can help us understand our resistance to change and helps quiet an erratic and noisy mind.
