The moon will be new this Saturday March 29 in the fiery sign of Aries at 5:58am CST. This new moon will not only be a partial solar eclipse but it will also be a supermoon. There’s a lot going on during this new moon so let’s break it down piece by piece. For this new moon the sun and moon will be 9 degrees Aries. New moons are symbolic of new beginnings and the perfect time each month to make new wishes and set new intentions. As mentioned earlier this new moon is also a solar eclipse, a partial solar eclipse to be exact.
Mercury, the Roman messenger of the gods, goes into retrograde two to three times a year (and sometimes even four). Mercury usually moves faster than Earth around the sun but when Mercury starts to move slower than the Earth’s orbit, it creates the illusion that Mercury is moving backward. Unplugging and slowing down is the higher spiritual purpose behind this astrological phenomenon. Sometimes a Mercury retrograde gives us a second chance to get things right!
The moon will be full in the early morning hours of Friday March 14 in the earthy sign of Virgo at 1:55 am CST. For this lunation the sun will be at 23 degrees of Pisces while the moon will be in the opposite sign of Virgo at 23 degrees.
